About the role

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will be the leader of our sales team dealing with the general public, as well as interior designers, architects and builders.  You will ensure the team provides superior customer service, and be involved in selection consultations and previews. You will engage our customers with enthusiasm and always maintain an impeccable sense of professionalism and style.

 

Responsibilities Include

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager with back-of-house tasks including rostering, reporting and more
  • Complying with all Work, Health and Safety Policies, Procedures and activities, and actively promoting and leading a safe work place.
  • Ensure Sales and Margin targets are met and exceeded
  • Manage and complete daily and weekly operational tasks.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and lead by example
  • Ensure store visual merchandising standards represent the brand and optimise sales
  • Train, mentor and coach Team Members to work towards goals and succession planning

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role (team leadership or assistant management role)
  • Industry-related experience (flooring, hardware, building, bathroom ware or similar) will be highly regarded
  • Strong retail, sales and service skills
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed team sales targets
  • Experience in motivating and developing a sales team
  • Superior communication skills at all levels with the ability to engage others
  • A desire for personal growth and achievement
